We left early Friday Morning, New Year's Eve Day, December 31st...
Leaving our gated security... |
Within the first two hours of travel we entered a beautiful range of mountains and WINDY roads |
I needed to stop for a potty break |
Mayrene had to stop for a "carsick" break |
After 7 1/2 hours of curvas peligrosas we came out of the mountains to miles of beautiful cane in full bloom |
It was dusk when we arrived in Oaxaca |
Since it was New Year's Eve, we had a little trouble finding a Hotel We ended up having to pay $130.00 American dollars but it was very nice. We stayed 3 nights |
Not wanting to waste any time, we hit the streets and found our 1st treasure. A beautiful, ornate Catholic Church |
It was Godie (I'll explain Godie to any of you, who ask) |
Within a few blocks we found another church, this one was elegant |
There was action going on everywhere. We ended up in the town square for the remainder of the night |
Lots of people |
Great Intertainment |
Everyone was trying to sell you something Robert thought about buying this one. |
This one wasn't near as cute, but I bought something for each of the kids from him anyway. |
Our Hotel had a wonderful view of the City from a gardened roof top. We planned to watch the fireworks from there. We went to our rooms to freshen up and rest for a few minutes. Quess what?? All four of us "SLEPT IN" the New Year.
