Trip to Southern Mexico-DAY ONE

We left early Friday Morning, New Year's Eve Day, December 31st...

Leaving our gated security...

Within the first two hours of travel we entered a beautiful
range of mountains and WINDY roads

I needed to stop for a potty break

Mayrene had to stop for a "carsick" break

After 7 1/2 hours of curvas peligrosas
we came out of the mountains to
miles of beautiful cane in full bloom

It was dusk when we arrived in Oaxaca

Since it was New Year's Eve, we had a little trouble finding a Hotel
We ended up having to pay $130.00 American dollars
but it was very nice.  We stayed 3 nights

Not wanting to waste any time, we hit the streets
and found our 1st treasure.  A beautiful, ornate
Catholic Church

It was Godie
(I'll explain Godie to any of you, who ask)

Within a few blocks we found another church, this one
was elegant

There was action going on everywhere.  We ended up
in the town square for the remainder of the night

Lots of people

Great Intertainment

Everyone was trying to sell you something
Robert thought about buying this one.

This one wasn't near as cute, but I bought something
for each of the kids from him anyway.

Our Hotel had a wonderful view of the City from a gardened roof top.  We planned to watch the fireworks from there.  We  went to our rooms to freshen up and rest for a few minutes.  Quess what??   All four of us "SLEPT IN" the New Year.
