We were up and out the door early for the festivities of the day. First stop was to Chocolate Street |
Here they make Hot Chocolate from scratch. The sack hanging on the wall contains Chocolate beans |
Our first purchase was made from this mother and daughter These Indigenous Indians dress in their native clothing |
It didn't take us long to find the fruit market |
I picked out the perfect chicken for Rob |
He was anxious for a bite |
The Carne was very fresh and covered with flies |
We had planned on taking one of these street cars, but found walking too much fun -- we didn't want to miss anything |
Notice who has the most bags in hand |
A stop for lunch. As we had just witnessed the meat markets, we ate vegetarian |
There were people everywhere and speaking many different languages |
Rob bought another marchete, a smaller one this time |
It's for sure nothing here is made in a factory |
Isn't this girl beautiful? She was sitting on the side of the street making jewelry. I had purchased a butterfly cut out of a coconut shell from another vendor |
and asked her to make me a necklace out of it. |
It is my favorite purchase. Not for the necklace, but for the lovely spirit who made it for me. Cost $8.00 |
