We flew out of Boise July 28th, 2005, headed for South America. Fifteen hours later our dear friends, Dave and Mayrene Bickmore, picked us up at the airport in Quito, Ecuador.
The Bickmore's were just finishing an 18 month humanitarian mission This picture is of the mission home |
We went on a short tour of the city as we knew we would be back to Quito in a week or two |
We drove about 10 miles out of Quito to where we would be staying in between traveling time. The home of ----------------------------------- Bickmore's had hosted their son as a foreign exchange student some years earlier |
We settled into our bedroom, caught up from jet lag and repacked or bags to leave for Argentina |
Another long plane ride, our flight was late arriving so by the time we picked up our luggage, got a taxi, and arrived at our Hotel, they had given up our room |
so we sleep in the lounge, until we could check in |
We toured the City |
It is large and very modern |
We went to church at Quilmez Ward on our first Sunday in Buenos Aires |
Rob had served in Quilmez as a young missionary. This small classroom used to be his apartment |
Crouded walking street where a youth tried to steal Rob's camera. |
The great thinker |
Lindy's first subway ride EVER |
About 45 minutes out of Buenos Aires we took a boat ride down the Delta del Parana |
This is where some of the rich people of Buenos Aires live |
Not leaving until the afternoon, having dinner on the boat, we were able to return at sunset. It was very beautiful |
I got a kick out of the dog sitters. A coveted profession in Buenos Aires |
