Our Wildlife Pets

The fox love to watch me cook in the kitchen

they love my cookin'
but their favorite is raw eggs

Deer love to hung out around our house

We can get real close to them--they truly are our friends

We have bear that visit us in the Fall.
This track was in our driveway

Lindy was trying to get the deer to have a seat

These visitors we do not like
they are mean and obnoxious

These three bears were regular visitors every fall
to our Motel and house, so we names them
Burly, Brownie and Blackie
Unfortunantly they got in trouble with the
forest service.  They were removed to Hells
Canyon twice, but when they came back
for the third time, the forest service
killed them, much to our distress

This fox is Ethel.  Shortly after both my mother
and father died in 1999, two fox showed up
We feed them for several years, they became
really friendly and would follow us from the motel
up to the house for a snack.  We named them
after my mom and dad,  Charley & Ethel

Hiking

One of our favorite loves is hiking
in the Mountains of McCall

Hiking with our friends
Carrie & Brian McMahan Snow Slide Lake

Deep Lake

Grassy Mts.

In 2007 Rob and I started a hiking group called the Senior Hikers...By 2008 we had 15 or so regulars for our Thursday Hikes. The season of 2008 we hiked to 15 lakes: Pearl, Hum, Snow slide, Rock Lake, Serene, Crystal, Duck, Loon, Grassy Meadows, Hard Creek, Hazard, Twin, Shaw, Golden, Louie, Boulder. Loon Lake being the longest hike--12 miles, round trip.

Why didn't we think of this
A pack goat!

Heck, We don't need one.  Do you see any of us
women with Packs..........
Can you believe sometimes the men go on hikes
by themselves, thinking we women can't keep up...
Hikes to Golden, Prince, Cly, 33

Why do men think steep
and long hikes are the best?

They had blisters on their feet to prove the hardness of the hike...

My favorite hike is to Crystal Lake. Great huckleberries, beautiful hike, about
3 1/2 miles, one way. Check out the huckleberries and the wildflowers.
