ATVing Summers

Montana with Richard and NoraLee

 We love ATVing. While visiting Rob's brother in Montana, they (Richard & Nora Lee) took us on our first ATV trip, traveling over the Continental Divide. We were hooked and bought our first ATV, a red Honda, the year was 1994. We rode double on several trips, but when Lindy decided she wanted to drive her share of the time, Rob bought a 2nd machine. We have traveled thousands of miles, mostly in Idaho and Montana, but we did take our machines to Utah and stayed for one month 2007. We rode the Piuate Trail System, Moab and on the outskirts of many of the Utah National Parks. (See

Many of our friends have ATV's and we love
to hear our phone ring in the mornings
and have someone say "Let's Go ATVing"

This trip is to Bull Creek with Teresa and Tim Manser
It was so fun to have Lance come with us on this trip

Riding on this side hill at Crestline Saddle was so
bad that they closed it to ATVing

When possible we made a trip with all our friends
to Hells Canyon on Rob's Birthday, June 4th
It is opened earlier in the spring than other trails

Both Davis and Tim Manser have rolled machines
at this spot on the way to Crystal Mountain.
Rob is giving it another try here

Many times Rob has to help Lindy out of a tough spot

What in the World are we doing
ATVing here??

ATVing in Montana

Every other year we take our ATVs to Dillon
and spend three days in their beautiful mountains

Richard and Nora Lee took us on our first
ATV ride, over the Continental Divide
in the year 2000

Montana has rough and rocky trails

Nora Lee is more than a sister-in-law
she is one of my best friends

They always show us the best of times
when we visit

Montana is beautiful country

It's almost as beautiful as Idaho



Montana's wildflowers are spectacular

Their pine trees are much shorter than ours

but many of their flowers are taller



We always make time for some hiking



Rob discovered this cave when he lived in Montana
as a thirteen year old boy.

He and his friend, Ray Nygene lowered themselves
down in the cave with a rope attached to a jeep
(Hey! Grandkids, this is a story Gramps would
love to tell you about, Ask Him......)



Richie and Lalove joined us on this trip
in 2009

It was great fun.

The Scandia Cabin, Moose House and Ole' Blue



Although this cabin did not belong to us,
we leased it and rented it out as part of the Motel--
it's  location is directly behind the motel



Families loved the cabin for their skiing vacations

 

Ole' Blue is a 1967 Volvo and was a radio dispatch
vehicle for the Swedish Army.  It was given to me as a
gift on the day we closed on the Motel



The Moose House is right in front of the Motel and is
just an old house that came with the property.  In fact,  it
is where the original motel managers lives.  We remodeled
it some and large families really like staying in it.  We also
rented it out my the day or week.

The Improvements Continue

Our driveway was asphalted in September of 2007
Rob couldn't figure a way out to do this one himself.
He actually hired it done!!

What happeded to all the "stuff" in the basement?



Now we have a great extra organized storage center
murphy bed for family and a big screen T.V.
